ICSI Extended Last Date for UDIN Amnesty Scheme
The UDIN Amnesty Scheme’s 2023 deadline has been extended by ICSI in order to give Company Secretaries in Practice a one-time chance.
The UDIN Amnesty Scheme’s 2023 deadline has been extended by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in order to give Company Secretaries in Practice a one-time chance. The Amnesty Scheme will be in effect until April 15, 2023.
Under the Amnesty Scheme, a Company Secretary in Practice may:-
i. Generate the UDINs if missed earlier,
ii. Rectify the active UDIN details recorded at the time of generation,
iii. Revoke unutilized UDINs.
All UDINs created starting on April 1, 2022, and those created up until the end of the scheme, on April 15, 2023, will be qualified to benefit from the amnesty scheme.
Application for the Amnesty Scheme is free of charge. Straight through process (STP) mode and the entire application procedure are conducted online. Log in to the members page or the UDIN website in order to take advantage of the program.
The Practicing Company Secretary who applies under the ICSI UDIN Amnesty Scheme, 2023 will be exempt from the provisions of Paragraph 8 of the UDIN Guidelines with regard to the UDINs for which the request has been made, and disciplinary proceedings will not be started or considered in this regard.
The immunity provided by this Scheme, however, shall not be given to members who are the subject of an ongoing disciplinary action brought by the Disciplinary Directorate of ICSI for failing to follow the UDIN Guidelines.
- The amount of UDINs that can be changed or revoked under the scheme is unlimited.
- Under the Amnesty Scheme, only active UDINs are available for modification or correction.
- Whenever a change is made in accordance with the Scheme, the member must provide the appropriate justifications.
- A specific UDIN may only be changed or canceled once. UDIN cannot be reactivated after being removed.
