Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support on management reporting activities for month end closing, P&L/cost analysis, forecasting, profitability walks, headcount analysis, leadership presentations
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn local Caterpillar tools & systems like Axiom
  • Perform system related activities covering building file groups, tables, SQL jobs, new reports, updating data/dimension tables and posting data modifications in support of changing business requirements
  • Develop/enhance/maintain dashboards working with large databases and advanced reporting tools such as Power Query, Power BI & Power Apps
  • Partner with leadership to provide analytics & insights and develop as a subject matter expert on Caterpillar finance & accounting

Process Transition & Improvement:

  • Perform the tasks related to the transition of the projects in line with COE scope of work, timelines, business requirements and defined metrics/KPIs
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, defining and owning the documentation (instruction manuals and scorecards/trackers)
  • Partner with multiple global stakeholders on day-to-day operations
  • Identify and leverage on tools and technologies to transform processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement via simplification, standardization and automation.
  • Embed change management best practices.

What you will have  

  • Proven experience in systems like Axiom, Power BI, Power App and/or other similar financial tools, financial & management reporting, FP&A, and business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data, trends and patterns.
  • Excellent customer service skills working in a global environment with multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Self-starter, works well independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in process transitions and transformations in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn Caterpillar management reporting methodology and knowledge about products, suppliers, and consumers.
  • CA, CMA or MBA Finance with 7-10 years of progressive experience
  • A good working environment with a shift that starts from 02:00PM -11:00PM IST.
  • It’s an Individual contributor role.

Financial Analysis : Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. 

Level Extensive Experience: 

  • Conducts and documents analyses of a variety of financial statements and indicators.
  • Anticipates the potential impact of decisions based on financial data analysis.
  • Oversees financial analysis to evaluate organizational and managerial performance.
  • Evaluates financial statements and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Advises others on a variety of financial tools, techniques and approaches.
  • Directs others work with financial and cash flow ratios and trend analyses.

Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Follows organizational practices and guidelines for product profitability reporting.
  • Analyzes errors or inaccuracies in financial reports.
  • Uses basic tools to create simple financial reports.
  • Monitors compliance with organizational standards for financial report writing.
  • Implements organizational methods and procedures for financial report writing.
